My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Arizona

My employer will schedule its employees several times a pay period only to have the shift canceled because they do not need coverage. These cancellations occur on the same day the employee is scheduled to work. Sometimes these cancellations occur as the employee walks in the door for the shift

Our thoughts are, if we are blocking the time off because we are expected to be there should they not be compensating us for our time similar to an on call worker?

They say since Arizona is a right to work state, and that they may do as they will. I have taken the time to read what a right to work state is and I do not feel that it allows for their interpretation.

We are interested in any direction this forum may be able to provide us so that we may better educate our selves.
