My question involves civil rights in the State of: New Jersey.
I was recently arrested in Mercer County after a family court date. I had 5 warrants, I was supposed to be released June 8, 2015, I wasn't released until July 7, 2015. I was be in held in the Mercer County Workhouse on some on else's traffic tickets. July 6, 2015 it was brought to one of the counselors attention that the birth year on the ticket were not the same (mine: 1991, ticket: 1983). The ticket was issued in the year 2000, I was 9 years old. I've never even had a drivers license. Do I have a lawsuit against the jail for falsely holding me? Can I do this on my own, without a lawyer? What are some outcomes if I do win in court?
