    Default Running Away Right Before Your 18th Birthday

    My question involves juvenile law in the State of: TEXASI Turn 18 in 3 weeks, and i want to move out sooner. will the cops force me back home?

    I doubt that the police will involve themselves; including if your father puts you over his shoulder and carries you home.

    I just dont want to wait because im tired of my mom trying to control my life amd treating me as if i was still a child.

    Child: a young human being below the age of puberty or below the legal age of majority.

    i know im not a child but she doesnt seem to understand that. she even says that im crazy if i think im going to move out when im 18, im afraid she wont ever let me leave.

    Another three weeks isn't going to kill you. When you're actually 18 you can walk out the door and never look back, and no one can do a darned thing about it. As long as you're under 18, even if only by a matter of weeks, there's no absolute guarantee that you won't end up back home. If your mother is determined enough and you're even one day under 18, she can make trouble for you.

    Adults have the maturity to control themselves until the circumstances are in their favor. Children stamp their feet and demand everything right now. You say you're not a child - okay, act like it. Hold out the three weeks and then leave when the law is on your side.
