Default Plaintiff Ordered to Appear in Court As Witness, but is in Prison

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Az
Plaintiff has received a subpoena to appear in court as a witness, but is presently incarcerated. Plaintiff has case against Defendant for criminal damage. This case has been pending for a few years, and warrant was finally served to the defendant. What does Plaintiff do in order to be represented in court, since they are incarcerated? Does the judicial system bring him to the hearing? It should be noted that the Plaintiff is 5-6 hours away from the town where the hearing is being held. Can the Plaintiff appear in video or by phone?
Plaintiff wants to pursue this case, but does not know what to do.
    Thank you,

The plaintiff should work with his lawyer.

The plaintiff should expect that it will be up to him to file appropriate writs and obtain appropriate orders such that he can appear in court to prosecute his case, or in the alternative attempt to obtain a stay of proceedings due to his incapacity resulting from incarceration.

Ok, thank you Mr. Knowitall. I am his POA, and he cannot handle this from his location. I will contact the person who sent the letter.
    Thank you for your reply
