Default Divorce Papers Identify Wife by Husband's Surname, Which She Never Used

    Hi,
my question may seem kinda dumb but I was wondering...I live in Florida and he lives in Georgia, we got married in 2009 here in Florida. A couple months later I left. I NEVER took on his name and just kept my maiden name. We are handling our divorce through a family member of his. They brought me the papers to sign and I saw on the papers that my name was typed up with his last name, I let them know when I saw that that I never had my name changed and they just said it would be ok. I went ahead and signed it using his last name but is that going to cause problems in the process of the divorce? The divorce is going through Georgia. Thank you in advance.

Is the family member an attorney? It's easy enough to stipulate to the amendment of the caption, such that the case accurately reflects your name. Any attorney should be able to manage that.
