My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Colorado
So my fiance wants to obtain full custody of his daughter because her mother has not been seen or heard from in over 6 months (according to us). We suspect she is using heavy drugs again and don't want her anywhere near the child for this reason. Her grandparents (on her mothers side) may have been secretly letting the daughter see the mother for an unknown span of time. Will this effect a case? Can the grandparents plea for there daughter and would the possible visitations lead to him losing? Should we just go the custody case route even though we have no way of contacting the mother? We are worried her grandparents might try to take custody for their daughter(the mother) and we are just not sure where to begin. If a child abandonment is what we should do where do we start?
