My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: California
The company I was working for goes by an hourly rate and a monthly commission. Upon starting with the company I was told by the recruiter that id get commission for every application submitted, it's a personal loan business. Once I got onboard they said "no you have to reach a percentage." Since I was new, I was considered a "Novato" the chart for percentages was different it stated that my first month I'd have to reach a total of 50% to earn commission. On my first month I earned 54% by the 31st of May, however on my dashboard of commission it was stating that I wasn't getting paid for commission so I contacted my district manager he said he want sure why but that he'd look into it on the 2nd of June he tells me that unfortunately the information on my dashboard was correct, that I wouldn't be getting paid for commission because apparently the last day to reach my goal wasn't the last day of the month but the 29th. He apologized and that was it. I then contacted HR and all I kept getting from them was sorry there's nothing we can do and the manager for the department was super rude and suggested I talk to my manager about doing something about getting paid commission, and again all I got was an apology and that he was sorry I was misinformed but there was nothing he can do because HR had told him how it works. What can I do in my case?
