My question involves real estate located in the State of: MA
I sold my house last friday. We hadn't finished packing by closing so a holdback of $500 was in the closing doc. I had until Monday to move out. The buyer needed to tell lawyer that the house was clear in order for me to get the $500.
She moves in Saturday and gives an ok by text to my realtor, meaning I can get my $500. Before I can get it on Monday she finds a small problem under the sink. She calls lawyer and or my realtor and complains. She wants part of the $500 holdback to pay for repairs.
Buyer chose NOT to have home inspection. Lawyer won't release money to anyone until the buyer and I agree to an arrangement.
I shouldn't be responsible for sink; she didn't want home inspection....
