My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Michigan
I recently quit a part-time job. After quitting, that employer contacted my full-time employer'a HR department and left a message with one of the HR people threatening "civil action" if their uniform shirt is not returned. I have not even been separated from this company for a week. However, is it legal for one employer to contact another employer to convey threats such as this? I would not be upset had they called and left a message with them for me to contact them, but this seems like an over reach. I left the part time employer due to issues with a manager there, and will not have any contact with them other than email due to their continued unprofessionalism.
Thank you in advance for any help and advice.
