Default How to Get a Copy of Your Parents' Divorce Decree

My question involves child support in the State of: Colorado

I'm 56 years old my parents are both 83 and suffer from dementia. They've been divorced since 1959 due to their state of mind and my name is on the divorce decree why do I need the the approval of either parent to need the approval of either parent to see a legal document that I'm a part of? This divorce decree directly effects my life and beings I don't suffer from any mental disability I should have access to it without the signature of one parents who doesn't know what day it is.

you were a part of but you were not a party to the legal action. That is why you have no right to the document.

how does the decree directly affect you especially given their divorce was 56 years ago?

(He apparently didn't bank on being so hopelessly incorrect. Shame)

Check with the court where the divorce was litigated to see if the record remains available and, if so, order a copy.
