i just turend 16 i have a dad in nj and i am in between mo and ks and my mom past on back in march a now i am on my own what do i have to do to become a leagel adult now know this i am allready takein care of my self and have done so for over a year now so i know what i am doin and just need to be leagel

What you have to do is petition the court for emancipation.

Whether you get it or not depends on what state you actually have established residency in and exactly what you mean by taking care of yourself for a year.

If you have a job and are paying rent someplace you might have a shot at it.

But if you are living on the street begging for pennies the court is likely to send you to your Dad or turn you over to CPS.

AJ's answer is wrong anyhow. There's no way to become an "leagel" [SIC] adult by emancipation. Emancipation doesn't magically turn you into an adult.
