My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Texas
We live in a rented duplex. there is a driveway that leads the rear of the house with a covered assigned parking for one vehicle for both sides where there is entrance to our homes by backdoor.there is a fence with a gate across the driveway. we've lived here for two years and the lady who lives on the other side has lived here for several years as well. the issue began when during daytime hours it became a hassle to get out of the car open the gate, get back in the car back out, then get back out of the car to close the gate and back in the car to run up the street for less than 5 minutes only to come back and do it all over so we prefer to leave it open and close it when we return home. Our neighbor began to purposefully ,even after explaining our intentions and even sticking a be right back sign on the gate, closing and locking with make shift locks such as hanger wire as soon as we leave.once she went as far as to wrap extensively a bungee as well as a rope that she tied in a knot making it difficult for my husband to get our car out to leave for work in time one morning. this is becoming very annoying and police are being called by both sides now over this as well as other petty issues.our landlord who we have no direct contact with, only our maintenance man who collects our rent which speaks very little English won't get involved so what should we do short of moving!?!!?
