Default Will a Store Check its Records for Prior Shoplifting Incidents

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
I am graduating college, 23 yrs old. Clean record

Hi I was caught taking some items at walmart. I used empty box of cereal to hide items inside and reseal the box with tape. The reported amount was about $300. I was taken in to their room and they took my ID wrote a report and called the police. I tried to pay for the items but they just wanted to call the police. So I was arrested and taken in to PD.
Now that they got me, will they go back into their database to findout how many times I have stolen stuffs at any other Walmart stores? And will they be posting my pictures at their stores.

The police issued a citation and court date will be determined later. The officer who took my prints and picture said that everything will be fine as long as I show up for court and never do it again. But I don't think it is that simple.
I have contacted a criminal defender to represent me in court and he said that it will be hard to have the case dismissed.
I did a stupid mistake and I am really regretting it. How will this affect my future since I will be graduated in 6 weeks as an engineer? Will I ever get hired?
    Thanks a lot.

Sorry, the Magic 8 ball is broken. There's no way for us to know what Walmart will do. Or what prospective employers will do.

It’s unlikely that the store chain will have evidence of your previous thefts to have the state charge you with those, though there is no guarantee that the store won’t find something more. As for future job prospects, if you are convicted I think it’s safe to say that this certainly will hurt you with prospective employers. You may still find a job, but it will likely be harder than if you didn’t have a recent criminal conviction against you.
