Default Arraignment: your word against theirs?

when you go to court for your arraignment, is this a trial? or is it just the prosecutor saying that you have commited a crime and you can say guilty or not? thank you.
Also, how does a diversion work?

An arraigment is the formal presentation of charges, and your opportunity to formally enter a plea. There doesn't even need to be a prosecutor present. For a Circuit Court arraignment you can get a form at the court (or which can be downloaded here) which you can submit to the court to avoid having to appear in person. If you already know the charges and wish to try and this is a District Court matter, you can check to see if your District Court will also accept a waiver form.

    A couple of possibilities:

    Mogill Posner & Cohen - 313-962-7210
    Elizabeth L. Jacobs - 313-962-4090
