Does Emancipation Give You All of the Rights of an Adult

My question involves guardianship in the State of: Louisiana. Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum. Lets say a fifteen year old wanted to get emancipated in Louisiana and his parents are in full consent. So it would be notorial( I think ) emancipation. What rights are they granted. For instance, do labor laws still apply. Or the purchasing of tobacco. Or getting a license. Like, can they get their full liscence at 15 if they are emancipated? What would they have to write for the emancipation statement and how would they go about the process. This is for Louisiana. Thanks everyone.

It will not happen unless a judge grants the minor the authority and the minor can prove to the courts satisfaction they will not become a public burden. Earning about $2k per month, with a job guaranteed to last until 18 and parental permission, might get a judge to consider it at 16. Sooo, forget your love and finish your homework, its almost bed time.

Also. What about firearms? An 18 year old can possess a handgun in Louisiana so could an emancipated minor also possess one?

Emancipation does not make other age related laws go away. An emancipated minor still cannot get a drivers license, buy or smoke tobacco, buy or drink alcohol, or own a firearm until they reach the statutory age to do so.
