Can Your Parents Make You Stay at Home Once You Turn 18

My question involves the age of majority laws in the State of: Florida
If an 18 year old tryes to move out and the parents refuse to let them by say grabbing there arm and not letting them go and repeatedly telling them there not allowed to leave and taking away any form of electronic they can use to make contact with anyone is this illegal and if so what should they do

If they are holding you against your will, you can contact the police for assistance. However, keep in mind that if you leave their house, they are under no obligation to let you take much of anything. If the phone is owned by your parents, they can keep it. You can get your own phone. The same thing goes for most of your other possessions - if they say it stays, it stays ... at least until you can convince a court that the items are owned by you and not your parents.
