My question involves an easement in the state of:VT. I own one side of a duplex. My neighbor who just moved owns the other side. We have a legally shared driveway. A week ago, this neighbor moved/abandoned their side. Foreclosure is beginning. Since abandoned, a different neighbor nearby, who happens to be a landlord with tenants in the building closest to us, has started parking her work truck at the abandoned side. She also told her tenants to come in and park here as well. They never did this when my neighbor lived there. It is supposed to be OUR drive. Not the whole neighborhoods. She thinks she can get away with this ,and that no one can stop her because the neighbor who left isn't here anymore to say otherwise or to get a no trespass order. I am not legally supposed to have to share the entryway to our driveways with anyone but the person who has moved. Parking is a pain now because she has way more cars there that park stupid ways than my neighbors who moved did. Our sherrif said he can't make her move because my neighbor who left would have to be here with me and file a no trespass together since it is joint owned? Did I just lose my right to my own driveway just because my neighbor chose to abandon theirs? Or does this sherrif not know what he's talking about? I can't afford to take anyone to court. We just don't have that kind of money. Their inconsiderateness and bullying is devaluing my property, limiting my parking, and destroying the neighbor's lawn that my kid and I have always had permission to play ball on. What to do?
