Default How Can a Parent Emancipate a Teenager

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: in cleveland ohio.

I am a parent and want to know what do I have to do to get my 17 year old emancipated.

She wants to live with friends who still live with their parents. the parent has said she is allowed. Also we want to get her this because she is causing too much trouble in the home. thank you

You cannot "get her emancipated". Your state recognizes the emancipation of a minor in two, and only two, situations; lawful marriage or enlistment in the active armed forces.

However, she can move out if she has your permission to do so. You are still responsible for her if she causes any trouble, but you can give her permission to live elsewhere.
