Child support arrears are forever.
There is no SOL on collecting and enforcing it.
From what I'm seeing, in Texas, a motion to render a judgment for past-due child support arrearages must be filed not later than ten years after the date on which (i) the child becomes an adult or (ii) the support obligation terminates under the child support order, whichever is later. Tex. Fam. Code § 157.005. If that is done, then the support would continue to be enforceable through the new judgment.
You can still pursue payment of arrears and you should do so sooner rather than later. You don't gain anything by waiting.
