I have done this too. Also, I'm a bartender in a very small town and she posts things on this uncensored page that's for the town. Making statements about me and where I work and the things she's saying are very incriminating and untrue. My bosses know about it and they know it's untrue, but I feel like it could effect their business.

Then to the extent she is defaming you in your role as a bartender it might also be considered defamation against the business, too. One thing that might work is if you and/or the bar owner(s) get an attorney to send her a letter that points out to her that she’s engaging in defamation and stating that she may be sued for damages over it. A well written letter from a lawyer can sometimes scare the recipient enough to stop engaging in the defamatory comments. It doesn’t always work of course, but it might be worth a try.

    The whole downside is:
    - You sue in small claims, win....and then deal with trying to collect.
    - You can get a lawyer, file a defamation case, try to prove the damage inflicted....and spent tens of thousands in legal fees.

    http://www.ncsl.org/research/telecom...ment-laws.aspx

I've dealt with it before, and dealing with it again from different parties. First time, I had to actually call the State Police and they gave me wording for a warning to the individual.

So...the first time I had what the State Police dictated for me to post, basically "Harassment by Telecommunications is a misdemeanor in (state). Any further incident will result in criminal charges. Any questions, call (Sergeant) at (phone number). Posted it on my page, left it up for a week, and emailed it to his best friend to pass along. Sp check the link I gave you, see what Oregon law reads, or look up Harassment by Telecommunication in Oregon, or call your state police post.

This time: About to post the notice to the latest person. I've already had FB remove a post of hers and they gave her a warning....but...blocked her a few days ago under a new friend request with a slight misspelling of name (can't these 51 years old get a little more original, lol).
