Default How to Get Compensated for Extensive Travel Time

My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: texas

My issue has to do with unpaid travel time and the overtime associated with it. For example it would be nationwide travel by car. Actual work time on site would be around 30 hours (paid) and travel time interstate around 60 hours (unpaid) for the week seasonally over a 2 year period.

Would using an attorney instead of going through the department of labor have a significant effect on how much I could be compensated or any other advantages?

Before going either direction, you might want to take a look at this link. There is a great deal of misunderstanding about what travel time actually has to be paid.

And if you are an exempt employee, you are not due any travel time at all.

If you are actually entitled to any dollars (yet to be determined) the amount of those dollars isn't going to change by using a lawyer, other than perhaps downward after you pay the lawyer his fees.
