Default Being sued out of the blue

Hello, I am hoping to find some help on here. I bought a computer back in 98 or 99 I believe through MBNA and was paying faithfully but then got behind due to circumstances in my life. It was sent to a collection agency called First Select who I was paying then I missed I believe 1 payment or so then they just disappeared. This was over 2 years ago last I heard from them-possibly even 3 years ago. All of a sudden there is a letter from an attorney at my parents house saying I am being sued for this all of a sudden. And there was a totally different collection agency listed on there. I never heard from this other collection agency which makes me think they didnt even try to contact me for arrangements. I just checked my credit last year and this year and nothing was on it. Last I knew this got written off. Can they just come back and sue me years later with no initial letter or phone call giving me the chance to set something up? Plus of course the amount is almost 3 times the original amount from over 3 years ago. I am a single mom that can probably only pay $25/month which I know they won't accept anyhow. What should I do? Oh I am in Missouri by the way...Thanks
    Chrissi
