Caught With Marijuana and a Pipe After Getting Pulled Over

I was pulled over today and my right head light was out, with my marajuana pipe right next to me. When the officer asked if I had anything I told him yes and anytime after that told him what was where. My ticket says, " "My name", did knowingly and unlawfully commit the offenses of possesion of marijuana (under 20(being 20 grams)) and possesion of drug paraphernalia to which subject was pulled over for faulty equipment (headlight) front right light, gave consent to search."

I'm due to show up for court in the 5th of January and I would just like to know from someone who has experience in this what's going to be expected. This is the first time anything like this has happened and the cop told me the whole time he was trying to do everything he could to help. The offenses are possesion of less than 20 and drug paraphernalia, I was also allowed to drive home that night. Any help would be awesome guys and thank you!

"Absent a state" would mean that he's trying to give you general information, hampered by your failure to follow the instruction to identify your state.

It's not unusual in your state for first offense, misdemeanor possession charges to be resolved with a deferred sentence. You may be able to find jurisdiction-specific information on the court's website or on the prosecutor's website. You should discuss the specifics of your case and prior record with a local criminal defense lawyer.
