clearly you're the idiot since you didn't even fully read my post. IT'S FACEBOOK. FACEBOOK IS NOT A CHAT SITE. I AM 21 YEARS OLD, I DON'T GO INTO CHAT ROOMS. Why do you people on here always just insult people?! That's all you people do! I've read so many threads on here and all of you just namecall and use ad hominem attacks on people for no reason.

IT'S FACEBOOK!!!! NOT A CHAT ROOM!!! HELLO!!!! ARE YOU STUPID?! YES YOU ARE.

Your best bet is to stay out of chat sites where most people are idiots anyway and act like children taunting each other in the schoolyard.

Your tantrum being duly noted, Facebook Chat can be used to talk to one person, to chat with several people at the same time, or to chat with members of a Facebook group.

And exactly what did the person do to stop communication?

Did he block the number? Anything sensible along those same lines?

The police will take one look at that and laugh you right out of the building.

A civil suit won't get very far either.

Get over it and find something else to do with your time.

You said that much more politely than I was about to do..

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan

    Good Morning,

I was curious if I had a case against someone for threats made in a facebook chat. It was one message, and it was not direct. However, this person has caused me much grief, and I'd like to press charges if I'd have a case. Attached is a screenshot of the threat, with the person's name blurred out.
Looks like no crime to me. Sadly, these things get reported to the police every day and are a waste of time. Folks, the police cannot enforce good manners. If you don't like the comments on a public forum, ignore it or leave the forum.

You only want him arrested to "get him," not because you actually fear that he could or would make good on that vague, veiled "threat."

Find other things to do with your time. But if you're going to play with the children in the sandbox, don't get pissed when someone throws sand in your eyes.
