Default Re: Can a Pawn Shop Have Someone Arrested

    You said:

The item was retrieved from the pawn shop and returned to the owner
He also have to pay his cousin for an item that was already sold by the pawn shop
So we are talking about multiple items here, how much money doe's he owe the pawnshop and how much to his family member?

First of all he didn't theft anything his cousin ask him to pawn the chain. They got into a fight over a girl and his cousin decided to report the chain stolen. Just to get him locked up and then went to court after a week and drop the charges. When you don't know the full story don't be quick to judge. And if you don't have anything positive to say don't. Thank you

So how did he get the other item? Who was the owner of that item?

I don't think of pointing out how the victim perceives the crime as being judgmental. Judgmental would be, for example, asking if the money went up his nose or into a vein.

You were the one who told us that the item was stolen, so you'll have to forgive us for taking you at your word. There is a problem with your story -- if he was pawning the items as a favor to his cousin, he would have given his cousin the cash from the pawn. If that is what happened he would be asking his cousin to pay that money back to the pawn shop, not using his need to repay his cousin as an excuse for his inability to repay the pawnshop.

Filing a false police report is a misdemeanor and will land the one who made the false report in jail for 1 year and give them a $1000 fine.

When your son pawned the chain for $3,000. What did he do with that money?

There is another victim that your son stole from, that victim had his things returned from the pawnshop. The pawnshop is the third victim of your son and are out of pocket $3,000.

If you're trying to cover-up the story or potentially leaving incriminating information out to favor your son, it's not going to help your son or yourself when you get in the court room.
