My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: New York

My employer has set up several LLCs: a bar and two restaurants. They operate out of the same building. My department has the same managers and schedule regardless of which LLC you are working for. We also get pulled from one area to work in another on short notice. We aren't unofficially aren't supposed to work more than 35 hours a week for each LLC.

Recently we had a series of parties at LLC 1. I worked almost 60 hours. I got my pay this week, and it was split between two LLCs. There was no clear transition from one business to another, because there was none. It was all in the same space, the same scheduled shift, etc. We weren't notified that our hours would be split. Are they allowed to do this?
