My question involves criminal law for the state of:NJ I was stopped for shoplifting at wal-mart 1 month ago. they let me go no cops or anything I then received a letter stating that I owe them 150.00 and if I don't pay wal-mart may consider further action to enforce it's rights under the law. WHat does that mean?
It means that they can call the police and have you criminally prosecuted.

From what I've here from hundreds of other Walmart shoplifters, Walmart takes that seriously.

I suggest you just pay the $150.00 and get on with your life, learning an important lesson I hope.
