I have conducted many such interviews but before I answer your questions. I would ask you who interviewed you? If its Loss Prevention/Asset Protection then yes they have somehting on you regardless of what you tell us here. Were you fired? If no then it wasnt you who stole but you were beign questioned in regards to a an odd transaction. I have conducted many interviews that were nothing more than fact find so to speak. In other words I wanted to clear up some questions on odd transactions that looked like theft. This too might be case. They can ask you anything they want! You dont have to answer. They do NOT have to show you evidence although they can and I often do! The laws regarding evidence againist you are for court not interviews! Employers handle these interviews different depending on policy but yes they can accusse you and yes they can say what they want. If you want more accurate answers be more descriptive
