Unhappy Live Scan Result Delays California

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: California

I submitted my livescan 2 weeks ago and was told by the employer who has made me the job offer that the DOJ takes up to 30 days to clear. I have found on other sites , that some people experience longer delays than 30 days. I am assuming that my delay is caused by an arrest I had 12 years ago on a misdemeanor charge. What is usually the process in clearing the delay? What are the factors in the delay length? I am afraid that the delay will take longer than 30 days and my job offer may be at risk

An arrest should have NO impact on the time taken for a response. The record is merely a record, they do not call and confirm anything, they merely match your prints to an identity and a criminal offender record.

The "delay" can be for any number of reasons. More than likely, it is just taking time. DOJ is understaffed these days.

This is always a possibility, but I would not expect it.

    Probably nothing.

What did they find in the background check?

Oh, and it is best if you start your own thread on the issue.
