My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: California
First and foremost, I apologize if the following description is confusing. I'm asking this for a friend who doesn't want to be named.
A few months ago, a friend (X) of mine got into a bit of trouble with another friend (Y), with the law.
However, the detective that (X and Y) were in trouble with never directly met (X) and only the other friend (Y).
(Y) wasn't experienced with speaking with the police and mentioned (X's) full name and birthday as well as saying that (X) was in on crime too.
As a result, (X) was summoned to show up in court, but before (X's) court date, their lawyer was able to dismiss the case. To this day, neither the detective nor any person of the court has met (X).
My question is: In the future when (X) is looking for a job, who would be able to see the dismissal if any?
How would this dismissal affect (X's) future endeavors in terms of getting a job, if at all? (X) mentioned that their lawyer says all criminal cases are to be closed within 90 days of opening. The lawyer also mentioned that (X) would get a dismissal letter, however advised to not be too "eager" to get the letter, because it would show guilt. Is this true? (X) is a close friend and they are constantly stressed about this issue without finding a straight answer because it's such a unique case. (X) is so stressed out, they're thinking about hiring a private investigator to see how much a background check on them would show. (X) wants to get into the medical field in the future and does not want this to follow them.
As always, thank you in advance for everyone's help and answers!
