Sure it is, so long as you don't lie in regards to the "did you look for work" and "were you available for work" questions. CA will then schedule a phone interview to discuss why you weren't available, and how many days of the affected weeks you weren't available so you get your prorated amount. I know many states treat one day of not being available as completely not available, but CA is different in that regard.
