My question involves juvenile law in the State of:
I am a 17 year old, female, in the state of North Carolina. I live with my single mother and my 18 year old sister. I am being what is called mentally or verbally abused in my home by my mother. I am looking at so many ways to get out of here sooner, and it seems the only way is emancipation, which I have read is pretty hard to get. My mother is not going to "allow" or give me "permission" to be emancipated, so that is out of the question when it comes to emancipation. She has told me to find somewhere else to go or to live then later takes it back and says I cant leave until I am 18 (in about 10 months which is too long away for how I am being treated). Then she later told me to get emancipated. I do have a job, however I do not make enough to have my own place completely. I have a lot of qualities to get emancipated except acceptance from my mother and enough money for my own place. Could I live with a friend and share rent? How exactly does it all work. I've read the law on it, but doesn't really help me much. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Anything information will help.
Thanks.
