Default Moving Out After Turning 18 if You're Still in High School in Mississippi

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Mississippi
I will be 18 in about 2 weeks now. My plan is and always has been to move out of my house. My mother and step-father tells me that i can't because i'm still currently in school. This will be my senior and final year of high school, and no i'm not planing on dropping out and have never had the intention of doing so. I have a place to stay and multiple back ups in case it where to fall threw for me. Is there any law at all preventing me from moving out of my parents house when I turn 18, even though i'm still in high school?

According to Mississippi statutes you are a "minor" until you reach the age of 21.

    See 1-3-27:

However, there are a variety of statutes that grant you certain rights and obligations when you reach the age of 18.

You can read about them at:

Where statutes are cited you can look them up at:

I haven't found anything that actually "prevents" you from leaving and I seriously doubt that your parents will be able to get the police to haul you back to their home but, who knows.

My opinion: You're an idiot if you think life will be any better if you leave home before you finish high school.
