Just a second here - while quitting generally disqualifies you from UI, you may be able to argue it if your employer has not made reasonable accommodations for your medical condition. Either way, you will have to file for UI, the State will question your employer, your employer will say you quit, and the State will deny your claim. Then you will appeal the State's decision, and be scheduled a hearing. That could take 3 months easily. So I would ask your employer to make some accommodations for you based on your medical conditions. If they are unwilling to, then I would suggest you find another, less physical job. I know in PA there are some conditions in which a person who quits is eligible for UI benefits. Those conditions are very specific and very narrow. I don't know if such provisions exist in IL U&I law.
