Default Point of Entry Risks With Municipal Ordinance Violation for Shoplifting

I was recently arrested for a shoplifitng charge. However my criminal defense attorney tried hard, and eventually the charges were downgraded to a municipal ordinance violation. This is in NJ.
Now I am on a valid visa, and plan to visit India on a vacation. While coming back is there any risk at the port of entry? can my arrest record show up there, and can there be any problem entering US?
As i said my court disposition says that my amended charges are municipal ordinance. But I am worried more of the arrest record.
please share any helpful advise on this front.

Default Re: Shoplifiting downgraded to municipal ordinance: any POE risk?

Whenever you commit criminal acts, you put your immigration status in jeopardy. Theft is an act of moral turpitude, but its being resolved as a municipal ordinance violation would probably result in the USCIS regarding it as falling under the petty offense exception such that it won't affect your immigration status.
