My question involves medical malpractice in the state of: tennessee
I am a little pressed for time here because I have a short window until my dad is cremated without an autopsy. My dad age 59 went to the ER last Thursday and complained of weakness and could not easily sit or stand. I'm sure he had a hard time voicing his actual symptoms but he told them he was weak and told the emts who picked him up from home his history of stroke. His blood pressure was good and vitals were good so they have him an IV for fluids since he had been unable to drink and was dehydrated. He was released with no further testing and went home. Before he made it in his house he became unconscious and never awoke. The drs at the hospital he was flown to said it was sudden and probably not detectable but I took him off life support 12 hours before hearing the word stroke. I feel like I was never told the truth and people were covering for the hospital who let him go home. I have been trying to decide if I should pay the thousands of dollars for an autopsy incase I find negligence and I have a tiny window to do so. We don't have a lot of money so I'm torn here. Not sure if such a stroke could have been seen or prevented. He had a small stroke 5 months before this one. I don't want money. Truly I'm not greedy nor do I need anything. I want to know that my daddy didn't ask for help and know something was wrong just to be sent home and uncared for when I told him to go to that ER. I want to know if this type of stroke could have been detected or slowed down. Maybe he would have had some damage and maybe I am selfish but I would rather have 1/4 of my dad than none of him. If you have any help to give me please do so soon. I really need some answers.
