Default If You Separate by Moving Out Are You Abandoning Your Property

My question involves a marriage in the state of:Michigan.
If I separate from my husband and leave my home (since he will not leave) will it be considered abandonment of the property?

Default Re: If You Separate by Moving Out Are You Abandoning Your Property

Generally no but if you are contemplating leaving you should really talk to a divorce attorney before you leave. You can stop the clock on lots of thing like debt, the use of assets, and property ownership between the time you separate and the time you get a divorce.

    Are there children involved?
