My question involves criminal law for the state of: Virginia
I have priors of getting into trouble, one being Burglary charge (a felony charge which was grand larceny's but got dropped). Well the other day me and my girl was at Walmart and my friend got caught stealing. I was with her, yes, but I didn't steal anything myself. My friend even wrote a statement saying I had nothing to do with it and didn't know what she was doing. I have a a slight history of getting into trouble though. They charged me and my girl with petti larceny. The girl who actually stole she has no record. The guy that "caught us" said that I was her look out. So far the guy couldn't even find anything on camera of me being a look out. Which the cop even heard him say that we were on camera but then said we weren't but i was her "look out". He was lying through his teeth cause he did not know for sure about me. So I basically got charged for being with her. What do you all think will happen to both of us? How much time do you think I would get (me having priors)?
