My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan

My friends and I (all 18) were camping at the Warren State Dunes last week. Late at night an officer walked up to our camp site with no warning what so ever. He turned on his flashlight once he was standing right next to us. My friend had his grinder laying out and the officer picked it up, smelled it, and asked where the rest of our weed was. We immediately owned up to everything that we had on us. My friend had a chilum, pipe, steamroller, grinder, and about two grams on him. I only had my pipe and about .2 grams of weed on me. The officer asked my friend if he would be willing to claim my piece and weed to add onto his ticket and to save me from a ticket, and my friend agreed to it. We were all able to post bond so my friend was not spending the night in a jail. However, he needs to go back to court. Everyone is chipping in to help pay for his fines once we find out his charges. My question is, what would the charges most likely be for four pieces, a grinder, and between 2-3 grams of marijuana? It was his first offense of any kind (other than a casual speeding ticket) and we were extremely cooperative with the ranger and did not try to hide anything from him.
