Default Can a Web Design Company Claim Copyright Over a Website Screenshot

I currently work at a web design company that does not have a non-compete form OR copyright form at this time.

If I take a screen-shot with permission of the company that I designed the website for, could I use the screen-shot in my portfolio?

In other words, my company hires company X, I complete the website, and get permission to use the screen-shot from company X, and then upload the site to my on-line portfolio.

    Is this allowed?

Default Re: Can a Web Design Company Claim Copyright Over a Website Screenshot

Who holds the copyrights to the web-site? If the web-design company does not hold the copyrights then their permission is worthless. Have they delivered the web-site design to their customer and given them the copyrights?
