My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: CA
Hello guys. Any advice is appreciated, as this is the first time I've received a speeding ticket in California.
In a nutshell I was driving through Santa Barbara county (2hrs away from home) and was pulled over by an officer after i passed his speed trap.
I was the first car of a pack (due to the red light we were at moments before) going about 70. It was an old 55 zone so i was about 15mph over.
Cop was professional and i was compliant. Ended in 10 minutes with a ticket. To be 100% forthcoming I did mistakenly admit guilt by answering his "any idea how fast you were going". I said 65 which is what i thought the speed limit was. OOPs
Now for the possible saving grace loop hole...
I received a Notice of Correction and Proof of Service TR-100 in the mail. It was postmarked 6/24. The form states the date/time of the court appearance should be changed from 7/21/2014 to 7/24/2014.
~~The form has no signature from the officer on the correction and there is nobody listed nor signature on the proof of service portion. Think this will be enough to help my case?
Any other ideas how i can beat or minimize this crazy high $$ ticket and avoid the loss of work and entire day driving up the coast to court??
