Default How Long Does a Property Lien Last

My question involves real estate located in the State of North Carolina

Is there a statute of limitation on a property title loan?

The lien lasts forever if that's what you ask.

Now that will depend on whether the lien is senior or junior, whether the lien is for lending or judgment, and what proceedings have taken place since the lien was placed on the property.

Some liens do not survive foreclosures, tax sale foreclosures, and bankruptcies. They are/can be extinguished.

We need more information about the situation to answer your question.

I should be more exact. Mechanic's liens will often time out.

Other liens (either those placed by a lender or the tax man or through a judgement) don't go away because of age.

They may go away through other legal action as mentioned by bud.
