Default Confused About New York Parole Statements

A neighbor's spouse is currently serving jail time, my fear is endless since I am worried about their release. Their term is for a min of 4 years, and max of 8 yrs. Their crime was in 2004.It said that their parole eligibiliity date is Dec 27 2006, but then it also states their earliest release date of May of 2008, and their reappearance of parole hearing date of Nov of 2007. I don't understand this, can the inmate be released in Dec of 2006, or will they be released in 2008? I don't understand how the inmate can be eligible for parole this month, if they have to reappear in 2008. Can you explain this? Confused.

Default Re: Confused About New York Parole Statements

It sounds like the parole board has decided that the person should not be released at the earliest date, and that the next review is in a year.
