Default Changing a Child's Last Name From My Boyfriend's

My question involves paternity law for the State of: Arizona. My boyfriend and I changed my sons last name about two years ago. To be honest, he convinced me to do it at a very bad time. I was going thru depression. Long story short, I started feeling guilty with my son. We lied to him and I want to come clean and be honest with him, before he's a teenager and gets really hurt. He always had my last name only. His biological father is around but travels a lot. He was out of his life for about 3 years. I dont know what to do, I just want my son to have my last name only and avoid anymore problems. Once he has the age to decide to make up his choice on his name. Please help! I know this is messy. I cannot believe myself for allowing this. Since his biological father was never on his birth certificate it was easy to just add my bf.
