My question involves traffic court in the State of: California

Hi, I have TBWD that I must send in immediately, having procrastinated on it, and needs to get postmarked today, since it's supposed to arrive at the court tomorrow.

I have read two schools of thought here, one that you should include a good amount of information about an intent to fight the ticket, and the other just to write in "I stand by my plea of not guilty", and hope that the officer doesn't do his part.

Question 1: Is there a consensus on which is best? If that's the case I should put in more, I'm at a loss for the best thing to write in the TBD.

I should add that I called the court clerk and asked to send me another TBD packet when I didn't receive the first one, so this deadline was postponed from the original.

Question 2: What all should I request from the court for Trial De Novo, should I lose the TBD, how, and when? I tried to search and didn't come up with anything concrete. Can someone show me a good thread or two for this?

Here is more info, just FYI:

Attached is a scan of the ticket(will attach soon). He appears to have me sewn up pretty good: 37 in a 25mph and under "School Zone" he wrote 103 "feet". RADAR says "LIDAR" and there is number written in beneath it, (illegible) LR100336 maybe? I believe, having done some reading here, and reading the statute, these details are included to defeat the "speed trap" defense, but I could be wrong. The time written was 6pm but doubt if that matters.

"25" is painted on the street lanes in a couple of places, as is common here, but there is no posted speed limit sign for a couple of blocks at or approaching this indisputably "major intersection" where the infraction was said to occur, and no school zone signs anywhere that I can see.

I was driving a rental car, a "Zipcar"; doubt that matters, but just trying to remember any other unusual details.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially as to questions 1&2.

Thank you!
