My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Pennsylvania
A couple years ago maybe 2 or 3, my dad was working for a company which had to lay him off from low business. It was a couple months ago the employer had filed that he had quitted instead of been laid off and that lead to the unemployment benefits being requested to be repaided. The unemployment benefits were accepted years ago and my dad had been collecting for some time. My dad had gone to court against the employer's claims and lost probably as a result of his poor communication skills since he is an immigration and speaks only a fair amount of english or from lack of evidence of bring laid off. The appeal period has passed and it's been a few months since the case was lost.
They simply took most of the money from my parents joint tax return. Is there any other way to fight this?
