My husband works with a construction company. This company has a reputation of either firing or laying off people every year. My husband was aware of that but was determined he was going to make it. The company gave him a $10,000 a year raise because "he was very good at his job". That was less than a year ago. One of the other Bosses said he was going to get the biggest bonus he has ever seen in the construction industry less than a month ago. His boss came up to him on Monday and said "I am in a bit of a bind". My husband had a feeling of what was to come. Of course he had been there almost a year and was going to be entitled to vacation 401k etc. His bonus was due to come in on December 1. My husband got upset and needless to say he left. He has not returned but has never been vocally fired or laid off, he was just told by his boss that his boss said "something has to be done". Is there any legal ramification for this idiotic company?
