My question involves criminal law for the state of: Colorado
My brother has 3 priors in Texas for 2 simple possession of marijuana, and an assault, all of which were misdemeanors, and he recently had a felony drug charge dismissed, and a misdemeanor theft charge dismissed due to lack of evidence. All of his priors with the exception of the dismissed theft were on his juvenile record. My brother forced a man into his vehicle with a handgun, threatened him, and emptied his ATM at the bank, then ran from the area, and robbed 2 stores at gunpoint netting around 3400 total between the 3 robberies. Long story short, he is sitting in the Rio Blanco county jail with a 254,000 bond, he plans on trying to plead his way out of this one, what do you guys expect as far as sentencing? His attorney won't be realistic with us, although we have told him the goal is for my brother to serve as little time as possible, not complete freedom because he will have to answer for what he has done. I'm think he'll get maybe 10 years in DOC and have to serve 6 or 7. What about you guys?
