It's still legal tender. I collect coins which is why I knew that it was on the Mercury Dime, which ironically has no mercury in it.
If you know anything about coin collecting, you should be aware that the dime got its name by virtue of confusion over the image on its face, with people thinking that the winged liberty head was a depiction of Mercury.
