My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: Texas
Hey everyone i'm new here and have a concern, I figured this would be the best place to get some answers.
So I work in a shop working on race cars, I'm 22 years old and the youngest one to work here. Every single day I am the first one in the shop and the last one to leave. I'm not just doing it to make more money but to show them i'm a valuable employee and want to get work done to make the costumers happy.
They have no problem with me coming early, taking no lunch and leaving late. So on an average day I'm working over 3 hours of "overtime" which gets paid 1.5X each day.
So I just started paying close attention to my pay check and saw that this most recent paycheck said "98 hours regular pay" and "10 hours over time" with a total of 108 hours. So my question is why am I not getting time and a half when i'm working over 80 hours in 2 weeks, shouldn't I be getting 18 hours of overtime for the last pay check?
The first week I worked 51 hours and the next week I worked 57 hours.
